Janmaitri Kalpgathi Youth Organization, popularly known as Janmaitri, is a registered Non-Government Organization led by youth. It works with hill communities in high altitude areas of Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.
Since its inception in 2009, Janmaitri has implemented livelihood programs, youth & women empowerment initiatives, and disaster preparedness projects. After the 2013 disaster, disaster resilience became a major focus area.
Currently, Janmaitri reaches over 5000 households across 55 remote mountain villages. The organization works closely with government departments, banks, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
